PKPB does not stop College 17 students from contributing

SERDANG, 23 Nov - The COVID-19 pandemic challenge did not dampen the spirit of the students of College Seventeen (K17), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to contribute to the community through the organization of the Can You See Your Future? (Steps To Uni @ INTESABER).

The program, which was held on 19 November 2020 for Sabak Bernam Integrated Boarding School (INTESABER) students, was implemented using a new online webinar approach.

The program was joined by 85 INTESABER students who were interested in exploring the direction after studying Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), a guide to making career decisions and experiencing the real atmosphere of the university environment, especially UPM.

The program conducted by counseling officer from UPM Counseling Division, Ansarul Haq Tahrir Adli was implemented in collaboration with the Alumni and Career Secretariat, K17 Representative Council led by Teoh Jiu Yang; UPM Counseling Division, INTESABER and Student Affairs Division, UPM.

The Principal of the Seventeenth College, Prof. Prof. Dr. Jasronita Jasni, who is also the patron of the program, said that complete knowledge and preparation will make it easier for students to plan the best place to continue their studies after SPM.

UPM Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student & Alumni Affairs), Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu said such a program is a platform to train students on the concept of volunteerism through community activities in line with UPM's motto 'Berilmu Berbakti. "

INTESABER counseling teacher, Abdul Rashid Kefele thanked UPM for his contribution in organizing the program even under the conditions of the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB), and hoped that the participants could apply the knowledge learned.

The online webinar also brought great impact and new experiences to the organizers of the community program and it is hoped that UPM students and staff will continue to contribute regardless of the situation for the sake of common well-being. - UPM
